Cross Country

Birmingham & District Cross-Country League

The Veteran men compete with the Seniors and Juniors in the Birmingham League, but there are no individual awards or placings and all age groups are included in the overall Mens team. The four Birmingham League races are part of the Veteran Mens Club Championships.

Midland Women's League

Unlike the Mens league, the Veteran Women have a separate team race from the Seniors, but Veterans are also included in the Senior team. See the section on Seniors-Cross Country for more information.

Charity Cup

This is now the main County race for Veteran Men and Women in Northants. The Charity Cup takes place in December and incorporates the County XC Champs for Masters over the age of 35 with four to score for the Men and three for the Ladies.

County Championships

Warwickshire Veterans still take part in the County Champs in January as either Veterans or Seniors. The Northants Veterans can also run as Seniors in their event, which gives them TWO County Champs for the winter season.

Midland & National Championships

The same principal as the Birmingham League where all Veterans will count in the overall Mens and Womens team.

Other Events

There are also separate Cross Country Championships for Veterans with the Midland Masters Champs and the British Masters Champs. Athletes must use the appropriate entry form to enter these races individually, but must be a member of Midland Masters (MMAC) to run the Midland Champs.

Club Championships

The R&N Club Championships for Men over the age of 40 includes the four Birmingham League races, the Charity Cup, County Champs, Midland and National. An athlete must complete 5 of these 8 races to obtain a final position.

Road Running

All club Veteran athletes compete in the East Midlands Grand Prix Series. This is a series of 8 races with competition in each 5 year age group. A similar competition is also available in the Northants Road Running League (NRRL) and the Warwickshire Road Race League (WRRL) along with our very own Club Championships.

Entry fee for the East Midlands Grand Prix is £5 for each race, but individuals can enter all 8 races for a reduced fee of £35.
