Warwickshire 4-Stage Road Relays

The 2007 Warwickshire 4-Stage Road Relays were held once again at Sutton Park on Saturday 24th March. Rugby & Northampton fielding a full men's and women's team as well as a second part men's team.

Each relay leg was run over a 2.75 mile undulating lap.  The mens teams consisting of four runners and the womens teams consisting of three runners.

The men's 'A' team was led out by Tom Cleary in a time of 14:43, passing over to Stephen Emery in 10th place. Stephen, impressively, clocked the fastest time of the day for the Rugby & Northampton men completing his lap in 14:40, gaining 2 places in the process.  The third leg was run by Stephen Milner in a time of 15:26 maintaining 8th position. The anchor leg was completed by Paul Birch in 14:48, bringing the team in 8th place.

The men's 'B' team was lead by Jamie Sewell, clocking a time of 15:55. On second leg was Tony Hetherington, running his lap in 15:47. The third leg was completed by John Gercs in a time of 15:42.

The women's team were led by Jo Emery, who completed her lap in a time of 16:27 (5th fastest overall ladies time of the day) putting the team in contention in 5th place as she handed over to Madeleine Smith. Madeleine ran a solid second leg in 18:05 to maintain the team's
position.  Annette Carlin ran an impressive anchor leg to bring the team home in 3rd place, completing her lap in 18:25.  The women's team achieved, what is believed to be, the highest position of any Rugby & Northampton Ladies team in the Warwickshire Road Relays to date.
