REPORT
FOR SENIOR AND JUNIOR MENS RACE
Rugby
& Northampton Senior Mens squad
won back the team trophy at a
Rain
soaked Croyland Park, Wellingborough.
The constant downpour
made the course one of the worst underfoot conditions
That the event has
known.
Two of the pre-race favourites were forced to drop out, one of which was Mathew
Almond ,which made
the task even harder for the Mens team.
It
proved to be a case of all our
yesterdays and leading home the Mens squad
For the first time
ever was Vince Carroll when he finished in 10th place with a time
Of
44 mins 17 secs. Chasing him
hard all the way to the line was Brendan Moen
In 11th
spot just 12 seconds behind.
Tom Causebrook
was the only non
Veteran in the team and he clinched 13th position
With
45.19.

Summers ( 17th
in 46.26 ), Guy Petersen
( 20th
in 47.01) and
Terry Egan ( 21st
in 47.07 ).
Although
it was there worst team score for 20 years it was still enough to win the
title
For the 15th
time.
John Saw was the only other
Senior man to finish ( 28th
in 51.42 )
The
individual champion was
Tom Bark, who became the first Corby runner
Since Hughie Boyle 18
years ago to successfully defend the title. His time of 40.27
Was
well over a minute ahead of his team mate John Rocke, but he had the
consolation
