BIRMINGHAM LEAGUE CROSS COUNTRY REPORT
The third race of the Birmingham Cross Country League
Division 1 took place at
Coundon
Hall Park, Coventry and the Rugby & Northampton Mens team had their
Best performance
of the season.
Leading them home
yet again was Mathew Almond, who finished in 50th place
In a time of 32
mins 26 secs over the three lap
course of flat, but very muddy,
Grassland. His performance made
up for the disappointment of the previous week
When he had to
pull out of the County Championships and is now still on course
To become Club
Champion for the first time.
The
latest signing for the club Paul Birch was the second man over the line in
An excellent
74th spot when
he recorded 33.38.
The next four
runners for the club all packed within six places and
it was the
Delighted Brendan
Moen at the age of 40 who claimed his first ever top three place
To come home 88th
overall with 34.29. There was a
tremendous sprint for the line
By the two
Juniors with Stephen Emery
( 90th ) just edging out Steve Milner with
Both given the
same time of 34.35. Seven seconds back in 94th
position was Vince
Carroll who
completed the scoring six.
The squad
finished in 11th place on the day with a score of
487 pts, but they still
Lie at the bottom
of the league with one race to
go.
The
‘B’ team finished in sixth place and were led home by Stuart Meadows in
104th
Place with a time
of 35.13.
Making up the
rest of the team were Terry Egan (
105th in 35.21 ),
Brian Summers
( 125th
in 37.16 ), John Saw (
140th in 38.48 ),
Nigel Sewell ( 143rd
in 39.04 ) and
Adrian White
( 153rd in
41.08 ).
