Fighting 3rd place for Senior Men
The county cross country championships were held this Saturday at Cofton Park in Birmingham. The freezing weather meant that the ground remained frozen throughout which led to tricky conditions. Over 150 runners started the senior race and it soon became clear that the standard was high with runners from Coventry and Tipton to the fore. Stephen Emery settled in well to race and ran strongly throughout. In the final run in he overtook two athletes to finish an excellent 7th. Next in for the club was Jamie Sewell in 27th place followed behind by John Gercs. The 4th scorer was Stephen Milner who was making his first appearance since a lengthy absence through injury. Stephen finished in 34th position. The final runner was Paul White in 63rd. The team event was won by Coventry Godiva Harriers, with Birchfield Harriers in second with Rugby and Northampton in an excellent 3rd claiming the bronze medals from Kenilworth and Solihull.
