Willsher & Copson lead R&N home
Neil Willsher won the Tony Hetherington trophy for being the first Rugby & Northampton athlete across the line in the Rugby 6 mile road race. Competing in the second race of the East Midlands Grand Prix Willsher recorded 37 mins 52 secs to finish in 44th place and joined Jamie Sewell and Matt Howes as previous winners of the trophy in memory of Hetherington who died tragically in 2008.
Next man across the line was veteran Aaron Lincoln in 51st spot on 38.26 and completing the mens team for the club who finished in 9th place were Steve Milner (68th in 39.29) and veteran Adrian Hodson (84th in 40.34).
Angela Copson once again won the W60 section when she led home the R&N ladies in 9th position with a time of 39.36. This helped the veteran ladies finish in second place with Tricia Garner (28th in 46.48) and Jo Love (36th in 48.33) completing the team.
Behind Copson in the over 60 race was Barbara Parkinson in second with 50.17 and Gay Tresler 3rd in 54.10.
