3 Club Members Nominated
The Northamptonshire Sports Awards 2008, were held on Thursday 6th November at Kettering Conference Centre. These awards are about recognising the achievements, talents and contributions of everyone involved in sport whether as a participant, coach, leader or volunteer.
Over 300 people attended the above event with David Moorcroft as the guest speaker.
Three of our Club members were nonimated in 3 different categories as below - although none were winners, it was a great achievement by all three them.

This year she also broke the over 60's marathon UK record with a time of 3:16:28. She will be trying to break the world record in next year's London marathon. Angela will also be competing for England in the Masters British & Irish International Cross Country in Swansea on Saturday 15th November.

He is the Midlands Champion at 800m and has also recorded the fastest time ever for an indoor 800m by a British athlete. Damien has represented Great Britain at the World Championships in Spain this year.
CONTRIBUTION TO SPORT
John Love - John has been with Rugby & Northampton AC for over 50 years. During his years with the club John has committed all his time and energy as a competitor, coach, official, vice-chair, chairman - the list is endless! He still sits on the committee and is still very much involved in organising and officiating with lots of events up and down the country. To top it all he is still a competitor in the Veterans League.
