Club Champion Jo Pulsford led home the Rugby & Northampton ladies to their highest placing of the season when the squad finished in 6th place in the final race of the Midland Womens Cross Country League held at Cofton Park in Birmingham. Pulsford also achieved her best individual placing when she finished the 6.5 k course in a superb 10th place in 28 mins 21 secs and has now been the top lady for the club six times this winter to firmly consolidate her Cross Country club title.
The Veteran title has still to be decided, but it was Alison Cooper who just got the better of Angela Copson when she claimed 40th spot in 30.49 with Copson seven seconds adrift in 45th position. The pair are now level in the club championships, which means the National at Alton Towers will decide the outcome.
Kate Williams joined Cooper and Copson in the Veteran team which finished in third place with Williams recording 31.41 in 55th place and is already assured of third spot in the W35 club champs.
Completing the course in 63rd position was Veteran Daisy Melville in 32.12 and Rachel Shaw who will be joining the over 35 category later this year was timed at 33.16 in 78th.
The final two members for R&N were the veteran pair of Tricia Garner (134th in 37.36) and Barbara Parkinson (160th in 40.35).
