Nick Condon takes gold in athletics & tennis
Nick Condon, from Rugby and Northants Athletic club recently competed in the European Heart and Lung Transplant games in Vaxjo, Sweden. He won gold in the 100m in a time of 13.39 secs, over a second ahead of his nearest rival also from Great Britain Andrew Drysdale who finished with a time of 14.44 sec with Kiriakos Zachariadis from Greece third in a time of 15.88 secs.
Nick, also won the 4km run in a time of 24.03 mins beating Maximiliam Lang from Austria (31.05 mins) and Nicolas Fernades of France (31.25mins) quite comfortably. He also took gold in Tennis and picked up a silver in the 4 x 100m relay and bronzes in both golf and cycling.
Nick had a double lung transplant two and a half years ago at Papworth Hospital, Cambridgeshire
