Midland 4x4 Cross Country Relays - Sat 3 Oct
Solid 10th at Wolverhampton
The senior cross country season started with its traditional opener the Midland 4 stage relays. This year they were held at Compton Park, Wolverhampton over an undulating course of park land and school fields. The Rugby and Northampton team was led off by Matthew Emery who emerged in 15th place in 22mins 59 secs. The team then continued with the “running preacher” Jamie Sewell who returned a time of 24 minutes in his first race for several months. Sean Reuby then continued the solid work with a time of 23mins 29. The team was anchored by current World 800m masters champion John Gercs who posted an encouraging 21mins 44 secs to bring the team home in 10th position.
