Angela & Barbara lead the way again

The pairing of Angela Copson and Barbara Parkinson were 1st and 2nd respectively in their age group for the third race in a row when they competed in the Bedford 6 mile road race on Tuesday evening. The latest race in the East Midlands Grand Prix Series saw the R&N duo, both age 62, finish the new course in 38 mins 38 secs and 46 mins 5 secs with Copson claiming 6th overall in the Ladies race.

Veteran Alison Rose-Quirie was the second R&N lady behind Copson in 24th place with a time of 43.58 and Linda Carter won the over 55 category again in 44.42, which put the Veteran women in 3rd spot in the team race.

The men were led home once again by Jamie Sewell in 20th spot when he recorded 34 mins 29 secs. The R&N Veteran mens team finished in 2nd place behind the host club and Terry Egan finished in 24th position with 34 mins 43 secs, which put him 2nd in the over 45 category. He was backed up by Brendan Moen ( 35th in 35.22 ), Brian Summers ( 45th in 36.23 ) and Nigel Sewell ( 56th in 37.13 ).

The fourth race in the Series will be the Corby 5 mile held at East Carlton Country Park on May 27th.
